Times Square Surprises in Store (and in-store)!

 
The countdown continues as Nov. 9th draws nearer - less than a week until the grand opening celebration for our Disney Store in Times Square!  Every morning after arriving to the office, I make my first stop to the kitchenette with my cow mug in my hand, and as I stand in the center of the building waiting for my tea bag to steep, I look around and see the excitement bubbling throughout the office at the anticipation of the opening of the new Disney store.  This is a really big deal.  A really, really big one.

I can’t unveil too many secrets but after some meet and greets with the big people involved, I can say I am tingling with excitement to see everyone’s reaction.  It’s the same giddy, mischievous feeling we all get when we’re waiting for our loved one to open a present we got them that we know will make them light up with joy.  Trust me when I say that the people here at Disney Stores really do have some magic up their sleeves on this one!  We already gave a little peek at the scale of things to come with our huge digital billboard that was unveiled October 21st.  This state-of-the-art digital billboard will continue to count down with you to the big day and will constantly display exciting new content about everything Disney.   Underneath the digital billboard, smaller monitors are sprinkled across the Disney Store front, framing the grand double doors that will be flung open to all in a matter of days.  Word has it that the shelves will be stocked with exclusive New York-themed Disney merchandise only found at the Times Square store, along with classic Disney merchandise and the magic and innovation of the all new Disney Store experience to a level you’ve never seen before - literally, since our Disney Store in Times Square is TWO stories tall!  That’s all I can really say about our store for now!  Oh, one more thing: all of Times Square is going to be celebrating with us so keep your eyes out on a whole bunch of Disney festivities!

That billboard looks amazing Amy! I wish I could go to the Grand Opening (to ANY Disney Store for that matter. Haha). I hope everyone has fun and that the big day is a success! Say "Hi!!!" to Mickey for me! :D

This sounds really exciting! I would love to take my daughter, but I can't seem to find any specific info regarding the Grand Opening. What time do the festivities start? Is everything happening inside the store, after it opens to the public at 1, or will there be attractions outside prior?
