Disney Store Wishes Everyone a Happy 4th of July!

Have a Magical 4th of July Weekend

Disney Store Home Base Cast Members had an opportunity to celebrate the Fourth of July a little early by sending a postcard message to a member of the U.S. Armed Services serving overseas. These aren’t just any ordinary postcards, though. This is patriotic Mickey, giving a rousing salute to the troops, with – most importantly -- a heartfelt and meaningful message.

Program Background

Operation Uplift began in 1995, when a Cast Member at Disneyland Resort read about service men and women serving in Operation Desert Storm who appreciated the notes and cards sent by civilians Stateside. In response, the Cast Member began writing to the troops, thanking them for their service and letting them know that they were in his thoughts. Since that time, Operation Uplift has grown into a Company-wide program with participants across the U.S. Since 1995, Disney Cast Members have sent more than 90,000 postcards to service women and men serving overseas.
