All of the dark magic and wicked cackles from the Disney Villains Designer Collection have seeped into Flashback Friday, so today we're going to re-introduce you to some Disney Villains you may have forgotten about.
Barnaby is the wicked suitor who kidnaps Tom Piper, then tries to force Mary Contrary to marry him in 1961's Babes in Toyland. Despite his trickery, Tom defeats Barnaby with the help of some toy soldiers, and Mary and Tom live happily ever after. We still can't help but love Barnaby's villainous pizzazz, complete with top hat, cape, and mustache.
Madame Medusa is the fabulous evil-doers from 1977's The Rescuers. She kidnaps a little girl named Penny in an attempt to use her to retrieve a diamond from a pirate cave. Fortunately, Penny is rescued by Bernard, Bianca, and the Rescue Aid Society, but we still give Madame Medusa credit for her avant-garde fashion sense.
Ratigan is the nemesis of Basil of Baker Street in 1986's The Great Mouse Detective. Basil tracks Ratigan down after he kidnaps a toymaker and involves him in an evil plan to make a robotic look-alike of the Queen that will allow him to rule England. In the end, Ratigan's plan is foiled, but he still holds a special place in our heart, because he was voiced by the ultimate villainous voice actor, Vincent Price.
The Backson is the supposed terrifying monster in 2011's Winnie the Pooh. His name comes from a misunderstanding of the words "back soon," which Christopher Robin writes in a note. Does this picture of the Backson not look familiar to you? Next time you watch the movie, stick around after the credits and you'll get to see the Backson in a whole new light.
