By Official Disney Store Blogger, Dec 07, 2012 9:37 AM

Disney Store fans have probably noticed that, our Magical Friday ads, and many of our other holiday communications have featured a lot of Chip, Dale and Pluto this year. This Flashback Friday, we're sharing the inspiration behind our holiday campaign: Pluto's Christmas Tree.

Pluto's Christmas Tree

Pluto's Christmas Tree is an animated short first released in 1952.

Chip and Dale
In the short, Mickey and Pluto bring home their first Christmas tree, but end up with two extra special surprises: Chip and Dale have tagged along!

Once the tree arrives at Mickey's house, Chip and Dale play all sorts of tricks on Pluto.

Merry Christmas
At the end, Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale embrace the Christmas spirit, and enjoy the holidays together.

Now you know the story behind of all of our Disney Store holiday cheer.

Thanks for posting this. Pluto's Christmas Tree is one of my holiday favorites, and it always makes me laugh. I'm also thankful that the Walt Disney Classics Collection honored this short by making several pieces of it. I love the ending of the short, and was glad to see it captured in the decorations at The Disney Store!

I love this episode! It was even on at the disney store last time we were there. Thanks for sharing
